Del Toro Farms — Humboldt County landscape

Our Ranch

A Family Ranch. A Single Standard.

We raise cattle the way it should be done — on open land, with care, and without shortcuts. That's not a promise. It's just how we've always done it.

The Del Toro Family

Who We Are

Del Toro Farms is a family-owned and operated ranch with roots in Humboldt County, California — one of the most pristine ranching regions on the West Coast. We raise a variety of cattle breeds for beef production, and we do it the right way: free-range pastures, humane handling, and a commitment to clean, sustainable food.

We started this operation because we believed families and businesses deserved better than what the industrial food system was offering. Beef that's raised with intention. Beef you can trace back to the land it came from. Beef you can feel good about putting on your table.

Where It Begins

Humboldt County, California

Our cattle are born and raised on free-range pastures in Humboldt County — a region known for its lush, fog-cooled grasslands and clean air. From day one, our animals have room to roam, graze natural forage, and live the way cattle are meant to live. No feedlots. No confinement. Just open land and honest ranching.

Where It Finishes

Southern California

When our cattle are ready for finishing, they're transported to our Southern California farm where they're finished on fodder — a clean, sprouted grain feed that's nutrient-dense, digestible, and free of synthetic inputs. Fodder finishing produces rich, well-marbled beef with exceptional flavor, and it lets us maintain full control over what our animals eat right up to processing.

From Pasture to Freezer

How We Raise Our Beef

01

Born Free Range

Every animal on Del Toro Farms is born on our Humboldt County pastures. They graze open land from day one — no confinement, no crowding, no shortcuts.

02

Pasture Raised

Our cattle spend their lives on free-range pastures in Humboldt County, grazing natural forage in one of California's cleanest ranching environments.

03

Fodder Finished

At finishing time, cattle are moved to our Southern California farm and finished on sprouted grain fodder — a clean, nutrient-rich feed that produces exceptional beef without synthetic additives.

04

Humanely Processed

Every animal is processed with care and respect. We are committed to humane handling at every stage — because the way an animal is treated matters, right to the end.

Fodder finishing feed

Why Fodder?

Clean Feed.
Better Beef.

Fodder is sprouted grain — barley, wheat, or other grains grown in trays and fed fresh to our cattle. It's highly digestible, nutrient-dense, and produced without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides.

Finishing on fodder gives us full control over what our animals eat in their final weeks — and it produces beef with exceptional marbling, rich flavor, and none of the inputs you'd find in a conventional feedlot operation.

What We'll Never Compromise

No feedlots. Ever.

No added hormones.

No unnecessary antibiotics.

No shortcuts on animal welfare.

No mystery in our process.
